The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a good option if you're looking to buy a mid-priced mop and robot vacuum. It gives a great mopping experience but lacks the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
In tests it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium pile. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to help you map your home.
Roomba s9+ iRobot from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It has a lot of features and incredible cleaning power, including the dirt compartment built into the base of charging. The robot also learns your habits of cleaning and suggest automatic schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning process at the click of one button. You can opt for an overall clean that focuses on getting rid of larger pieces of debris such as rice and cereal, or opt for two thorough mappings of your space to ensure that your home is properly arranged.
This robot vacuum is effective on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and sucks large items up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It's a challenge with high-pile carpets or plush carpets, but iRobot claims that future models will be better.
The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that concentrates on improving the edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba that adopts a flat-fronted D-shaped design. The company hopes that this will allow it to be able to hug the furniture and walls. It's a great improvement over the hockey puck-like design of most robovacs, though we found it to be marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims that the S9+ has an advanced filtering system that blocks microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating in your home. It's a nice premise, however, we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price cost.
Its smart navigation system uses sensors that keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology to map the interior. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles, such as stairs and other barriers, and to clean up your entire house efficiently possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and schedule cleaning times, and set up virtual boundary markers, so it can recognize areas that require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a machine that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as effective as those on higher-end models and its mopping feature is superior, as its spinning pads do a much better job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibration pad.
The only downside is that it lacks a second rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but it's an affordable cost to pay for if you want one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's tank for dust is larger than many of its rivals and takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even at the highest dirt level.
For the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest that are less aggressive than the more powerful ones, produce minimal noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without interruption. If it comes into contact with a wall or piece of furniture it gently bumps into it and moves on.
What really distinguishes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly completely autonomously, requiring only a little for user intervention. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and can automatically transfer garbage into a bin hidden. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app is good at notifying you when something requires attention, such as the clean water tank running low or a scheduled vacuuming session being cancelled because of a full dust bin.
You can also create or combine rooms to customize the way that Q Revo handles your home. That's a handy feature if you have multiple areas of the home with different flooring materials or there's some clutter that must be removed frequently, such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also among the top performers in my test and was able to remove debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first attempt. It can even remove wet spills, though I recommend drying them with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum that comes with all the features you could need. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it is a top-quality vacuum that has a powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, plus an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also has an auto-cleaning base station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them germ-free and ready for use again. It also features a new sensor system that can better detects obstacles, giving it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.
The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it has a sleeker, more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang Olufsen products). While still quite big--it's over two feet tall and deep and weighs in excess of four pounds--the robot and its base are much smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also has a bigger dustbin that is more durable to hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when required.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that can be used even when you're not at home. It also has an intelligent routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined path.
The X2 Omni is the best robot for mopping. Its rotating mop pads scrub away tough stains, and its motor creates lots of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is excellent, and it increases suction when it detects carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It is equipped with a large, rechargeable battery that lasts up to a week. The mopping feature of the robot is also powerful.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a high-end model that offers a number of features that aren't typically found on robots in this price range. It is able to build detailed floor maps, identify different flooring types and is among the few robots that automatically wash and dry the mop pads. While these features are great, they also put the L10s Ultra in the luxury category, which might make it a little more expensive than some homeowners require.
It is designed to resemble a modern floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device with an elegant white finish that's accented by mirror-plated silver elements. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper, which helps protect the vacuum and furniture from damage while moving around the house. Sensors are hidden behind the front panel, which helps the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button that is used as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. Clicking it again will turn it off and send it back to its base station. The circular menu located in the middle of the control panel allows you to select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons open the settings of the app where you can alter the way the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of cameras and LIDAR technology to map out your home. This creates a detailed floor plan that helps the robot vacuum and mop efficiently, without getting stuck in areas with clutter. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and recognize them and avoid them, which is a great feature for homes with pets or small children.
The L10s Ultra provides solid vacuuming performance which clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our hardwood floor test and taking out all but the most stubborn juice stains. Its mops are also quite efficient, taking away 98.4 percent of debris from our tile, wood, and carpet tests. However, it wasn't as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor, or Quaker oats on carpet.
